The first step in applying for a place is to come and see us for yourself.
Please note, our Reception class for September 2026 is full.
Registering for a Place
After visiting Heritage, you can register your interest in a place by completing the registration form, submitting your child’s most recent nursery report (if available) and paying a £30 registration fee and £120 assessment fee.
Attending a Taster Session
Following your visit/s to Heritage the next step towards joining Heritage for pupils already of school age is to attend a taster session. These sessions give children the opportunity to see what school is like whilst we assess their academic levels, behaviour and social skills in an age-appropriate way.
Children joining Reception will attend a play-based assessment in small groups which last about an hour.
Children of Year 1 age will attend for half a day and the class teacher will assess them in the context of the day’s normal classwork.
Children in Year 2 and above will join us for normal lessons for most of the day, during which time they will also complete standardised assessments in Maths and English.
Confidential Reference Form
For children already of school age, any offer of a place is conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory reference from their existing school.
All children who are offered a place must be able to access mainstream classroom teaching effectively, work with a cooperative and respectful attitude and can achieve average to above average scores in standardised English and Maths assessments.
Accepting a Place
We will contact you by telephone about whether a place can be offered. You will then receive an offer letter and be asked to return a signed Acceptance Form together with a non-refundable Acceptance Fee. Your child’s place is secured as soon as we have received these. We will then send out other information about starting school such as consent forms and details about uniform.
