Year 9 Geography pupils took part in a hands-on experiment to explore how volcanic eruptions work, using oil, coloured liquid and effervescent tablets to model the movement of magma and trapped gases. As the tablets released bubbles of gas, pupils observed how pressure can build and force magma upwards, helping bring volcanic processes to life while developing their scientific observation skills.
