Educator Training Days

This Training Day has been developed for school leaders, practitioners and those in education generally who want to learn more about our unique curriculum. During the day:

  • You will learn about narration, how to do it, why it is so effective, and how you can apply it to your current learning environment.
  • You will find out how to implement nature study, walks and painting into your learning environment and how to use ‘high culture’ to enrich learning (such as Picture Study).
  • You will discover the underlying principles behind these educational practices.

The lesson observations are focussed in the Junior School where these methodologies are mainly used at Heritage. This is a unique opportunity to gain CPD in a distinctive approach.

Please note that we also offer one-to-one visits and consultations for educators and others. Additional information is available here.

Feedback from Attendees

‘Thank you so much for putting on a fascinating and invigorating day at Heritage.  It was a very personal training day and it was a real privilege to get under the skin of your very special school. Several of the visitors that day mentioned how lovely it was to be invited into lessons and to see the Mason/Heritage theory in practice.  You weren’t hiding anything! When all the noise is about AI and digital literacy, it is so refreshing to see a school operating in a more thoughtful and human way.  In the lessons I watched, there was richness in the learning and depth in the attention of the pupils.  It was a refreshing break from the flashing screens and passive minds of many modern classrooms; children at Heritage are learning a different rhythm, something deeper.’

Tom Elphinstone is the Deputy Headmaster at Brambletye School

‘I never dreamt that a whole educational philosophy could be built around trying to cultivate ‘soul-food’ in a classroom. Thank you so much for opening your doors so warmly to us all, so we could see and understand how you teach. You’ve built a thing of beauty! I hope and pray that Heritage lasts for many years to come, so that multiple generations of children can benefit from the wide, beautiful, and rigorous education you provide. What an inspiration! ‘
